Debuting publicly as a DJ on Halloween night over a decade ago, it’s only fitting to find DJ Tomas Diablo behind the decks of parties like the wickedly-themed Bondage a-Go-Go or the dark goth ambiance of Strangelove at Cat Club. As the brains behind Strangelove, which just celebrated its 11 year anniversary this past February, he throws monthly themed parties for those with an affinity for goth, industrial, and new wave music. A self-professed “social and musical chameleon,” he has also spent his career DJing weddings, strip clubs, and even creating loop-based audio collages for Computer Gaming World magazine in the early 00’s.
We got a chance to catch up with Diablo about his early exploration of the goth genre, Strangelove, and the theme for the upcoming party this Friday.
